AARP meeting
SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday,
Nov. 2, at the First Congregational Church on East Main St. A meal will
be served at noon and will include a stuffed pork dinner with apple pie
and ice cream for dessert. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are
required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon Friday, Oct. 30.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Linda Hooker from the Oxford County
Sheriff’s Department will give information about scams and other
fraudulent schemes. The Christmas for Kids donations will be taken at
the meeting.
Worship service
SOUTH PARIS — Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, invites
all children to Sunday School and all adults to “Making the Old Story
Our Story” at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. l, All Saints Day. Worship service
will begin at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and
fellowship. All are welcome.
Church service
SOUTH PARIS — First Congregational Church invites all to worship on Sunday, Nov. 1. New members will be inducted into
the church family during the service. The Rev. Don Mayberry’s sermon is
called “A Tolerant Faith” and is based on a passage from the book of
Romans.
The choir and music are under the direction of Virginia Noble. The
services are broadcast live on AM 1450 in the Oxford Hills and AM 780
in Rumford and Bethel area.

Hayrides
OTISFIELD — The Seeds of Peace will have Halloween harvest hayrides,
with a wagon pulled by Belgian horses. Rides will last 15 to 20 minutes
and will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov.
1, through the Seeds of Peace. Cider and donuts will be served.
Participants should park at the beach or in the parking lot on
Powhattan Road, across
from the Seeds of Peace gate.
All children must be accompanied by an
adult and participants are encouraged to dress
warm. The hayride will be canceled if it is raining.
New sale location
BETHEL — The 29th annual Bethel Outing Club Ski Sale has changed
venues. The sale will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 and
from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Bethel Inn Resort’s
Conference Center, 10
Broad St., behind the Bethel Historical Society’s O’Neil
Robinson House.
Hunters’ breafast
WEST PARIS — A hunter and family breakfast will be held from 5:30 to
8:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the West Paris Historical
Society, Main Street, across from the library. The menu
will include eggs, bacon, toast, homefries, omelets, pancakes, donuts
and
more. Cost for adults is $5; kids, $3. The society will also raffle a
black powder muzzle loading
rifle. Tickets will only be sold during breakfast and the winner will

OXFORD — A hunters’ breakfast will be held from 4:30 to 7 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game Clubhouse,
Paine Road. The menu
will include eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, homefries, beans, toast,
coffee and juice.
New hours
WATERFORD — The
services at the Waterford Congregational Church, Plummer
Hill Road, Waterford Village, will start at 10 a.m. beginning Sunday, Nov. 1. Sunday School
classes will begin after the Children’s Sermon. Visitors
