MEXICO — The following incidents were recently handled by the Mexico Police Department.

Accident

Jennifer L. Gerry, 19, Brighton Avenue, Portland, at 8:09 a.m. on Oct. 19, attempted to drive into a parking lot near Rowe’s Restaurant along Route 2 when the sun apparently blinded her to several large boulders. Her 1999 Mercury sedan struck the boulders, causing $3,500 damage.

Vandalism

A Western Foothills School District custodian reported Oct. 20 an attempt to enter Mountain Valley Middle School. About $300 damage was caused to the window and trim of an exterior door that led to the school’s locker room.

Vandalism and theft

A Rumford resident reported at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 19, that someone had broken a passenger back window in his vehicle wile it was parked near Veterans’ Bridge. The vehicle was then entered and a battery taken, which caused damage to the terminals. Police estimated the value of the battery at $100, and damage to the window at $100.
