Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Matthew S. Waite has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Waite completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Waite earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course.

He is the son of Danny Waite and Vicky Waite, both of Canton.
Waite is a 2002 graduate of Mount Blue High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2008 from the University of Southern Maine.
