WATERFORD — The Masons from Mt. Tir’em Lodge will offer a CHIP program for families in Waterford, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the Computer Lab, next door to the library.
The Child Identification Program, CHIP, is a comprehensive child identification program designed to give families a measure of protection against the ever increasing problem of missing children.
The program consists of a brief recorded interview, digital still photographs, fingerprinting and a dental bite impression or cheek swab.
All information will be entered into a computer to generate items for parents to take home. The identifying items will be arranged on a color print out and also burned onto a CD. All information will be erased from the computer before the set-up is used for the next child. No information will be retained by the Masons.
The program is free of charge and open to all families in Waterford.
