Eastern Star meeting
LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will
meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall,

Reese has been invited. After the meeting, a pie auction will be held to
benefit Pioneer Chapter’s scholarship fund and refreshments will be served.
All members of the order are invited to attend.
Sodality
LEWISTON — The Holy Family St. Ann Sodality will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the parish hall. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Members are asked to bring an unwrapped lightly used Christmas item for the Chinese auction and there will be a jewelry sale for the members. Refreshments will be served. Art, craft sale
FREEPORT — Designing Women, a nonprofit organization comprised of women artisans, will host a fine art and craft show and sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at The Merriconeag Waldorf School Community Hall, 57 Desert Road. The juried show will feature work of nationally known artists. A suggested donation at the door will benefit the Coastal Studies for Girls. Lunch will be available. School fair
WALES — A Holiday Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Wales Central School, 175 Centre Road.

Genealogical society
AUBURN — The Maine Franco-American Genealogical Society will have a open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the library at the Great Falls School, corner of Academy and High streets. All people with Franco-American ties may start their family research at no charge or guest fees. The librarian will be on hand to help people start their ancestral line.
Self-employment
LEWISTON – Women, Work and Community will offer a free Introduction To Self-Employment workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at USM Lewiston-Auburn College.
The workshop will walk participants through the pros and cons of owning a business, show how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce the many resources available in the Androscoggin County area and help decide whether self employment is the right choice.

Firefighters association
GREENE — The Androscoggin County Firefighters Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Green Fire Department, 106 Patten Road. The program will be a critical incident debriefing.
