Dick and Jane’s 10 reasons to get U.S. troops out of Afghanistan:
1. The people of Afghanistan don’t want our troops there.
2. The government we are supporting is corrupt.
3. The ground war we are waging is unable to be won.
4. The drones we are using as an alternative to ground combat have killed hundreds of civilians.
5. The more casualties we inflict, the more terrorists we create.
6. The longer the war lasts, the worse the situation becomes for women.
7. Al Qaida can operate from anywhere.
8. We cannot afford it. (Cost to date: $231 billion and counting; $1 million per year per soldier.)
9. We cannot afford it. (Cost to date: 920 U.S. soldiers dead, 5,333 wounded.)
10. You cannot impose democracy with the barrel of a gun.
