Four hours and 185 pies into Buckfield High School students’ culinary feat to make 300 apple pies to sell for a senior class trip fundraiser, junior Heather Clavet adds spiced and sliced apples to pie No. 186 at 2:30 p.m. in the Home Economics room. Participants set up an assembly line of peelers, parers, cutters, spicers, dough-makers, rollers and pie shapers. The 9-inch pies cost $6. Many were pre-sold in October to buyers who were to pick them up uncooked later that afternoon.
