Zachary Donald, 4, of
Jay watches a model train go around during the ExTRAINaganza show at the Great
Falls Model Railroad Club clubhouse in Auburn on Sunday. Donald spent more than three
hours looking at the six model train layouts, said his grandmother, Cindy
Heikkinen of Livermore Falls. “I told him we could stay as long as he wanted to
or until they turn the lights off and kick
us out,” laughed Heikkinen. “He was so excited about coming to this. He loves
his trains,” said Heikkinen. The Christmas-themed show is the club’s first public
event at their new clubhouse on Mill Street, said club President Stephen
Martelli. ExTRAINaganza will continue Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children are admitted free, but
there is a $2 requested donation per adult.
