LEWISTON – The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs peewee travel hockey team welcomed Biddeford and Bangor to Androscoggin Bank Colisee last weekend and skated off with a pair of convincing victories.
Caleb Labrie led the way with a hat trick in a 4-1 win over the Biddeford Breakers. Kyle Ullrich picked up the other goal. Reid Pomerleau and Jozef Frechette each registered an assist. Kyle Welch was solid in the net, maintaining his shutout bid until late in the third period.
Eight different players scored a goal in a 10-1 triumph over Bangor. Brendon Croteau and Jacob Charest logged two goals and one assist apiece. Kyle Morin had a goal and two assists. Ullrich and Cody Woodward each contributed a goal and an assist. Ryley Austin, Cameron Stewart and Labrie completed the scoring. Frechette, Kyle Zamrock and Pomerleau each chalked up an assist. Trent Spaulding also took his shutout bid late into the game.
Lewiston will play in the Cornucopia Cup this weekend in Salem, N.H.
