AUBURN – The Maine Lakers youth cross country team has qualified to go to the National Championships next month in Reno, Nev. They have been training since the middle of August, and as a result of their hard work and dedication they were able to defeat teams from all over the northeast and therefore earn the right to compete in Reno.

The team is seeking donations from area businesses and individuals to help defray the estimated $3,000 cost of the trip. Any generosity no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated. It is the chance of a lifetime for these runners and a just reward for all of their efforts.
