Annie M. Cooney
1915 – 2009
AUBURN — Annie M. Cooney, 94, a resident of Oddfellows Rebekahs Home, died peacefully at the home Sunday, Nov. 22.
She was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Waterville, a daughter of Alfred and Marie (Terrio) Feely. She attended schools in Lewiston. She then married Russell Coyne on Sept. 15, 1936. He passed away in 1969. She then married Francis Cooney in 1971. He predeceased her on April 13, 1986.
She spent a great deal of her life as a homemaker. Later in life, she spent many years as a caregiver. Before moving to the Oddfellows Home, she was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting and had a special love for animals. Her house was always open to all as she raised her two children and helped raise two of her granddaughters.
She is survived by her son, Ronald T. Coyne and his wife, Beverly, of Athol Mass.; two granddaughters she helped raise, Gail Beasley and Arlene Benway; four other grandchildren, Deborah George of Plymouth Mass., Scott Coyne of Grafton, Mass., Sharon Loewy of Coral Springs, Fla., and Pamela Colarusso of Ashland, Mass.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandson.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Flores; two sisters; and three brothers.
