Why should I care about health care reform? I have health insurance. However, I can count on my rates to increase annually, I can count on my daughters being dropped from my policy as they age, and I can count on small businesses being unable to grow and provide coverage for employees.

The current system in Maine limits competition between insurance companies so that we can all count on not getting the best rates available. The people of this state can’t afford to not care about this issue. Small businesses are our future and our children should have job opportunities with health care benefits.

We all should applaud when our government representatives take a stand to improve our lives and we should encourage them to continue the fight to make Maine a better place to live and work.
