SOUTH PARIS — Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or re-certification can choose from 47 courses offered at Western Maine University and Community College Center for the spring 2010 semester, which begins in January. Courses are taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Most of the courses are delivered online. Students without high-speed Internet access can participate in the courses at WMUCC’s computer lab. Staff at the center offer support to all students who are new to online learning.

“Each semester we offer a greater variety of education courses at our center,” said Nikki Abbott, director of WMUCC. “We are excited to offer our community new, collaborative programs that will allow people to become certified as elementary or special education teachers.”

Open registration for spring 2010 semester courses began Nov. 12. Call 743-9322 for more information.
