DEAR SUN SPOTS: An idea has been tossed around about possibly holding a reunion of folks who received their grammar school education at Holy Family School on Sabattus Street in Lewiston. We would like to know just what kind of interest is out there. A tentative date of September 2010 has been suggested.
Do you remember the dear Sisters of St. Joseph, air raid drills, meatless Fridays, oral preconfession questionnaires, wooden clappers, rival grammar school hockey games … and the list goes on? If you have any interest in attending such a reunion, please contact Diane Beaudette Bonneau at 485-1808, e-mail [email protected], or Roger Hamann at 375-4883, e-mail [email protected], so that we can begin to collect contact information.
Anyone wishing to help in the planning will be more than welcomed. — Roger, Greene

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your section every day and find it to be very
educational and helpful to many people in many ways. I have hundreds of
needlepoint magazines and craft and crotchet and knitting patterns in
great shape and would like to donate them to a nursing home or any
organization that might be interested and find them of any use. Call me
at 650-3997. — Fred Grace, West Paris
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Several weeks ago I called the Sun journal asking if they could find someone for me, before God takes me. They gave me your name and e-mail. I’m an amateur computer user, so I was a little hesitant, but no longer.
I’m looking for an old classmate from microbiolgy class at Rutgers University in 1953. We both lived in Passaic, N.J. His name is Dr. Joseph Leonardi from Minot. His date of birth is Nov. 11,1933. He would have graduated medical school around 1961 in Italy. I know he started at the University of Rome. He liked jazz and Sarah Vaughn, worked nights at the A&P while going to school. He drove his father’s old Buick and enjoyed Branch Brook Park at cherry blossom time.
I don’t know what else to say except if you could help me, or contact him in any way, I would deeply appreciate it. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thank you. — Beverly Bayer Svensson, Hudson, Fla.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to know if there is somebody in the Lewiston area who will go to homes and cut women’s hair. Thank you very much. — No Name, Lewiston
