LEWISTON — The first community dog park in Lewiston-Auburn is set to open in the spring. Robin’s Garden and Dog Park will allow dogs to socialize with others
and romp off-leash within the safety of a reserved space.

The nearly one acre Robin’s Gardens and Dog Park will feature fencing around the park; a grass surface; two enclosures, one for large dogs (30 pounds and larger) and one for small dogs; pavilions for people to gather in each enclosure; waste disposal stations; and a community bulletin board.

The park will be open from dawn to dusk and may be accessed via Strawberry Avenue. Use of the park will be free, but each dog must be up to date on vaccinations and have a valid State of Maine dog license.

The park will be maintained and operated by the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society and a group of volunteers. Those interested in being involved with the Dog Park Committee may contact the shelter.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is located at 55 Strawberry Ave. For more information, call 783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org. The society’s Facebook page is at www.facebook/GAHumane.
