LEWISTON – Keegan Deslauriers and Kyle Lemelin each scored two goals to lead the Lewiston Ice Dawgs past Portland, 5-3, in Southern Maine Tier I middle school hockey action.
Lemelin added an assist for the Ice Dawgs. Max Bolduc scored the remaining goal. Additional assists went to Alex Nazaroff, Patrick DeBlois, Tyler Sirois, Michael Richard and Matt Poulin. Caleb Dostie was the winning goalie.
Maranacook drops pair of close ones
KENTS HILL – Maranacook Pee Wee Hockey dropped two tight games over the weekend, falling 5-3 to Western Maine and 4-3 to MSCA.
Joey Baumann scored a goal with help from Thayer Whitney in the loss to Western Maine. Lindsey Smith also picked up an unassisted goal. Zack Callahan registered a hat trick for WM. Kaleb Currier and Travis Townsend each added a goal. Chase Wescott and Mason Laplante had assists.
Baumann scored all three Maranacook goals against MSCA. Zack Godbout and Bailey Stockford chalked up assists. Chase Matteo scored two goals for MSCA, with Samual Kulikowski and Riley Andrews each adding another. Jack Vickerson tended the net for Maranacook in both games.
