The Tin Mountain Round Up is an annual charitable canned food drive that has become a standard on many Maine ski area event calendars. Several area resorts kick off the season with the Round Up on their opening weekend, while others feature the event during the ski season. In the past, these Round Ups have collected an estimated 5,000 cans of food. A target goal has been set at 10,000 cans for the 2009-10 Maine ski season. Black Mountain will be holding their second Tin Mountain Round Up on Sunday, January 3. By bringing three cans of food to the mountain you can ski or snowboard for only $15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or tube for only $5! All canned food from the Black Mountain event will be donated to local food pantries.
