Returning letter winners: Seniors -Eric Bolduc (5-10 guard), Clifford Turner (5-8 guard), Nic Crutchfield (5-11 forward), Tyler Gates (5-11 guard), Kyle Hutchinson (6-1 forward), Tyler Chiasson (6-2 guard); Junior – Spencer Ross (5-10 guard), Arik Fenstermacher (5-9 guard).
Key losses: Thomas Knight (center), Aaron Fenstermacher (guard), Tristan Franchetti (forward).
Promising newcomers: Senior – Ryan Lafleur (5-10 forward); Sophomores – Caleb Turner (5-7 guard), Cody St. Germain (5-11 forward), Jake Dowland (5-10 forward), Josh Turbide (5-8 guard).
Outlook: Gerrish, who coached Mountain Valley, to two straight regional titles and a Class B state title in 2007, takes over his former school’s biggest rival. Their Mr. Maine Basketball winner may have moved on to Notre Dame, but the Cougars are still one of the favorites in the MVC. Chiasson is one of the top guards in the conference and a tough matchup with his size and strength. With Bolduc, they have one of the top backcourts in Class C. They don’t have the size they had last year with Knight gone, but Crutchfield and Hutchinson bring toughness and athleticism up front.
