Boys’ Basketball
Coach: Scott Flagg (fourth year)
Last year’s record: 9-11, lost in Western B quarterfinals
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Taylor Valente (6-4 center), Evan Kenney (6-4 forward), Nate Rowe (6-0 forward), Ryan Barton (5-10 guard); Juniors – Adam Jensen (6-3 guard), Nick Bennett (6-0 forward), Josh Farynaz (6-2 guard), Ryan Cavallaro (6-1 forward)
Key losses: Cody Humphrey (forward), Orrin Googins (forward), Kyle Orlando (guard).
Promising newcomers: Junior – Heath Martell (6-4 center); Sophomores – Aaron Boulos (5-10 guard), Aaron Grondin (5-10 guard), Ethan Ridge (5-11 forward).
Outlook: The Patriots will spread the floor and look to get the ball inside to Valente. Kenney, an athletic slasher, and Jensen, a long-range threat, should keep defenses from sagging into the paint. Farynaz will run the point and be a key defender. Depth is a concern, but they should contend for a tournament spot.
Coach’s comment: “The strength of our team is our defense and rebounding, and for us to successful, we will have to continue to do those things well.”
– Coach Scott Flagg
