Girls’ Basketball
Coach: Jake Gentle (seventh year)
Last year’s record: 13-6, lost in Western B quarterfinal
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Renee Moore (5-8 guard/forward), Shelby Brannon (5-7 guard), Amber Cloutier (5-6 guard); Juniors – Kelsey Linnell (5-11 center), Allie Fitzgerald (5-5 guard); Sophomores – Jessica Campbell (5-9 forward), Kimber Morse (5-7 guard).
Key losses: Sam Purcell (guard), Kelly Bourgoin (guard), Jenn Caton (guard), Stephanie Smith (guard), Kala Michaud guard/forward), Katy Fitzgerald (guard).
Promising newcomers: Juniors – Ashley Fournier (5-8 guard), Randi Brannon (5-3 guard); Sophomores – Alexa Harmon (5-4 guard), Brianna Moore (5-8 forward), Erin Marquis (5-3 guard); Freshman – Bailey Madore (5-5 guard).
Outlook: The Greyhounds graduated six veteran seniors, including Purcell, an all-conference pick. Moore led the team in scoring (11.9 ppg) and was a First Team All-MVC player. Cloutier was also a regular starter but many of the Greyhounds came off the bench last year and will see increased roles. Lisbon has some size and a small group of veterans that should lead the club.
Coach’s comment: “The keys to Lisbon’s success is executing on offense, limiting our opponents to one shot, rebounding and protecting the basketball.” – Coach Jake Gentle.
