BANGOR — The publishers of Bangor Metro, Real Maine Weddings and other publications have unveiled a new monthly business magazine with the goal of providing “business intelligence and inspiration to people in charge.”

Maine Ahead will hit newsstands Dec. 7, according to a press release from the publisher, with a feature on five of the state’s six living governors, an interview with Hannaford CEO Ron Hodge, a tour of Shipyard Brewing Co., opinion pieces on Maine’s business climate and more.

The magazine will be mailed 10 times a year to approximately 15,000 executives in Maine, sold on newsstands statewide, available by subscription and “placed in qualified waiting rooms,” according to the press release.

“The mission of our magazine, as the title Maine Ahead implies, is to improve Maine’s economic vitality and prosperity,” publisher Mark Wellman said in the release. “We are not looking for the negative, ‘gotcha’ story. Instead, we are seeking and reporting accurate, engaging information that can help create a more positive business environment in Maine.”
