Pamela Jo Ellis of Rangeley recently received an honorable mention in the 60th anniversary art contest put on by Utrecht, an American artist supply company. Her winning image, “Three Boys,” above, will appear in the January and February issues of American Artist magazine. Artists from all over the country submitted more than 6,000 images. Ellis is one of six winners in the watercolor category. She paints small-scale and miniature paintings of children as well as intimate landscapes of western Maine. She has won awards through exhibits around Maine as well as from the Miniature Art Society of Florida, the Mount Washington Valley Art Society, the Cider Painters of America and the New Mexico Miniature Art Society.
