PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for several awards to be presented next month at its annual dinner.

The Business of the Year Award is divided into three categories based on the size and type of the organization. These include large businesses with more than 25 employees, small businesses with 25 or less employees, and nonprofit organizations. A business must be a chamber member to qualify for the award.

In addition, the chamber will recognize a New Business of the Year. To qualify for this award, a business must have opened on or after Jan. 1, 2007, and be a chamber member.

The remaining categories seek to recognize individuals in the community. The Employee of the Year Award will be given to an employee demonstrating strong work ethic and contribution to a company’s success. The Rising Star Award recognizes an employee or business owner, in their 40s or younger, “who is ‘up and coming’ and contributing to make the Oxford Hills an exciting and dynamic place to live and work.” These categories are also only open to chamber members.

The Citizen of the Year Award, which is open to any resident of the Oxford Hills, will be given to a person “who has provided outstanding community service to the Oxford Hills region over an extended period of time.”

The deadline for the nominations is Jan. 8, and a submission form is available at oxfordhillsmaine.org. For more information, contact 743-2281.
