AUBURN — The driver of a car that crossed the centerline on Route 4 and struck a utility pole Wednesday morning was taken to the hospital and charged with operating under the influence, police said.
Andrew Perry, 30, of 55 Howard St., Lewiston, was issued a summons following the accident, which occurred at 12:30 a.m. on Center Street.
Police said Perry was northbound in a 2005 Ford four-door sedan. He complained of back pain after the single-vehicle accident.
Damage to the car was estimated at $11,000. It was towed.
