Jeanne d’Arc Ames
1937 – 2009
LEWISTON — Jeanne d’Arc Ames, 71, of 732 Lisbon St., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born at Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Dec. 21, 1937, the daughter of the late Francois and Eva Michaud Soucy. She was married to Wesley M. Ames and prior to her retirement had been employed as a sales clerk at the former Bradlee’s and later at Zayre’s Department Stores. She later worked at Maine Electronics and area shoe factories.
She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and card playing and especially special times spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband of Lewiston; two sisters, Francoise Martin of Lewiston and Jeannelle Morneault of Baker Brook, New Brunswick; four brothers, Leopold Soucy of Lewiston, Omer Soucy and wife, Marianne, of Auburn, Florian Soucy and wife, Celeste, of Sabattus and Jean Luc Soucy and wife, Robin, of Lewiston; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister; and four brothers.
