MERCER — All are welcome to a free workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 16, to visit an ongoing biomass harvesting operation on a small woodlot.
The workshop will be led by Maine Forest Service Foresters Patty Cormier and Peter Lammert. They will address such issues as the economic, aesthetic and environmental implications of biomass harvesting as well as the USDA’s Biomass Crop Assistance Program (cost sharing), and how that applies to small landowners.
The workshop is a function of the Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of the Small Woodland Owners of Maine. For more information, contact Patty Cormier at 592-2238 or [email protected].
