LIVERMORE FALLS — A Lewiston man was arrested Sunday in Livermore Falls after an investigation of a domestic violence assault resulted in an additional charge of unlawful sexual touching, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
Police were called to a residence in Livermore Falls about 2:30 p.m. Sunday and arrested James Cloutier, 51, on charges of domestic violence assault and unlawful sexual touching, he said. The second charge involved a juvenile.
Officer Joseph Sage is investigating the incident, he said.
The department is also working on a Christmas Day burglary. A home on Reynolds Avenue was broken into and clothing, a television and electronic games were taken from one room, he said.
Officer Stephan Allen was called to the home about 12:30 p.m. Friday where one bedroom was ransacked, he said. Items in a special baseball hat collection, an expensive coat and jeans were taken although police do not yet have a full list of missing items.
No one was home at the time and this one bedroom was the only room disturbed, he said.
