Edmund J. Quirion
1931 – 2010

AUGUSTA — Edmund J. Quirion of West River Road, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, after a brief illness.

He was born June 1931 to Amie and Yvonne (Lavallee) Quirion in Augusta. Ed attended St. Augustine School, the Ballard School and Cony High School.

He had a long career in the insurance industry. He worked for Equitable life, Horace Mann, Nationwide and finally his own independent insurance agency. He owned and managed many apartments in Augusta.

He also was a former member of Abnaki Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. 

He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Ann (Evers) Quirion of Augusta; his five children, Angela Brown of Sidney, Edmund J. Quirion II and his wife, Arlene, of Gardiner, Charles Quirion and life partner, Leo Turcotte, of Lewiston, Ann Marie Quirion Hutton of Winslow and Jane Quirion and husband, Matthew Pollack, of Topsham; his six grandchildren, Justin Brown and wife, Amber, of Little Rock, Ark., Ashley, Katie and William Quirion of Gardiner and Benjamin and Amy Pollack of Topsham; a great-grandson, Aidan Brown of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Lawrence J. Evers, and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Quirion and Rita Evers, all of Augusta.

He was predeceased by his two older brothers, Arthur and Donald Quirion.
