THORNDIKE – Becca Lehotay netted four points in overtime to lift Oak Hill to a 33-31 victory over Mt. View in a KVAC girls’ basketball tilt Tuesday.
Maggie Sabine led the Raiders (4-4) with 13 points, while Lehotay finished with eight. Mt. View used a 13-8 fourth-quarter run to send the contest into overtime.
The Mustangs (5-3) were paced by Hayley Kein with a 15-point performance, while Chrissy Larrabee and Anna Piotti chipped in with six points each.
Rangeley 47, Buckfield 26
RANGELEY – Allie Hammond poured in 24 points and Rangeley’s defense limited Buckfield to seven points in the first half as the Lakers rolled to a 47-26 triumph in an EWC girls’ basketball contest Tuesday.
The Lakers (3-4) took charge from the start to stake leads of 15-2 and 28-7 after the first two quarters.
Chantal Carrier chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds. Jenny Abbott also had seven rebounds, while Sierra Marchacos recorded five steals.
Buckfield was led by Kaitlyn Rines with eight points.
Bangor 49, Mt. Blue 35
FARMINGTON – Stephanie Comstock scored 16 points Tuesday night, and Bangor held Mt. Blue to five points in the second period of a 49-35 KVAC girls’ basketball victory.
Kate Treadwell added 12 points and Brianna McKenna notched nine for the Rams (4-4). Jillian Perron topped the Cougars (0-8) with six points. Amy Hilton and Kelsea Adams each chipped in five.
Oxford Hills 61, Lewiston 43
PARIS – Oxford Hills rallied from a one-point deficit Tuesday night to overpower Lewiston, 61-43, in KVAC girls’ basketball.
Alex Rowe led the Vikings (4-5) with 13 points. Brooke Ladd added 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Oxford Hills reversed a 26-25 disparity into a 42-36 lead at the end of the third quarter, then put away the Devils with a 19-7 run in the fourth.
Jamie Swart led all scorers with 16 points for Lewiston (0-9). Kayla Hamel had seven.
Leavitt 72, Belfast 28
BELFAST – Adriana Newton scored 22 points and was equally impressive on defense, pulling down 15 rebounds and chalking up seven steals, steering Leavitt to a 72-28 victory over Belfast in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday.
The undefeated Hornets (8-0) held the struggling Lions (1-7) to single-digit scoring the last three quarters. Leavitt build a 37-17 halftime lead.
Sisters Courtney and Kristen Anderson teamed for a total of 10 steals. Courtney scored 17 points and Kristen added 15, including three 3-pointers. Abbey Randall scored 11 for the Hornets.
For Belfast, Lexi Nelligan scored 10 points.
Gray-New Gloucester 50, Yarmouth 39
YARMOUTH – Meagan Dehetre led a trio of players in double figures as Gray-New Gloucester hustled to a 50-39 win over Yarmouth in WMC girls’ matchup Tuesday.
Dehetre led the Patriots (5-3) with 18 points, including four 3-pointers in the first quarter. Laura Getchell chipped in with 16 points, while Kassie Wilson added 10 and hauled down nine rebounds. Alicia Valente also contributed with 10 rebounds.
Yarmouth (2-6) was paced by Morgan Cahill with a game-high 19 points, the only player in double figures.
Winthrop 38, Boothbay 22
WINTHROP – Kelsey Ouellette scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half as Winthrop battled to a 38-22 victory over Boothbay on Tuesday evening.
The Ramblers (4-4) used a 13-5 run in the final frame to pull out the win. Nikki Scott chipped in for Winthrop with nine points in what was primarily a two-player attack.
Boothbay (3-5) was led by Aaron Crocker with eight points, while Amanda Clarke added seven.
Edward Little 47, Mt. Ararat 39
TOPSHAM – Kirsten Prue and Kayla Cummings ignited a 21-5 run in the third quarter, as Edward Little ran off to a 47-39 victory over Mt. Ararat Tuesday night.
Prue led the Red Eddies (7-1) with 21 points, including five from long-distance. Cummings scored six of her 12 points in the third frame to spark the rally.
The Eagles (4-4) were paced by Tess Hitchcock with a solid 18-point performance, while Hannah Fenwick chipped in with eight.
Jay 44, Carrabec 31
JAY – After jumping out to a 10-point lead in the first frame, Jay survived a fourth-quarter rally by Carrabec to notch a 44-31 victory.
Hilary Deane led the Tigers (5-2) with 17 points and six rebounds, while Alexis Blodgett nailed four three-pointers for 12 points.
The Cobras (5-4) were paced by Alisha Stoddard with a solid 12-point effort, while Carissa Booker chipped in with nine.
