This is in response to the letter from Clem Bechard, printed Jan. 12.

He thinks he knows more about global warming than the scientists at the National Climate Change Center in Asheville, N.C.?

Scientists know the professional and public ridicule that would result from exaggerating or altering evidence.

From every corner of the globe, tons of pollutants pour into the atmosphere every day. How can this not be detrimental to the atmosphere?

Mr. Bechard in Lewiston may not see the negative result. His children and grandchildren certainly will.

Global warming is not local — it is global!
