First Auburn Seniors
AUBURN — The First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. President Angie Jipson will preside. Members are asked to bring cups and utensils for a spaghetti dinner. Before lunch, Tish Caldwell will address the group on the topic of health and wellness. Bingo will follow lunch.
On Jan. 6, 51 members attended the regular meeting. Attendance winners were Lennie Godbout and Don Nason; pot of gold, Phil Fyfe, Gerry Timberlake and Ray Tassineri. Phil Fyfe was welcomed as a new member.
Swingin’ Bears
SOUTH PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club
will have a square and round dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Oxford Hills Middle School,
Pine Street.
Al Hipkins, the newly
hired club caller, will call class level and mainstream 53. Carol Stewart will cue for the round
dancing. Admission is $6 each person with refreshments at
intermission. Nondancers are welcome to come at
no charge.

Distribution day
AUBURN — Auburn AC Serve, a part of Serve New England’s food and
volunteer program, will have Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan.
23, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner
St., Whitney Street entrance.
Registrations for February also will
be taken. New participants in the Serve, formerly SHARE, program are

Project results
LISBON FALLS — The seventh annual Christmas Project conducted by the American Legion
Nelson-Conley Post 66 resulted in three boxes of individual gifts
being sent to a platoon in Iraq, and three boxes sent to a platoon in
Afghanistan.
The project was funded by donations totaling nearly $1,100,
all but $20 coming from Post 66 members. Both platoons have Lisbon
connections.
Board meeting
LITCHFIELD — The Smithfield Plantation board of trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Litchfield Town Office.
OES to meet
LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196. The group will honor past and present District Deputy Grand Matrons. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All members of the order are invited to attend.
Census employment
TURNER — Informational meetings about employment opportunities with the U.S. Census will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday, Jan. 20 through March 17, at the MSAD 52 Adult Education Office, 486 Turner Center Road. Attendees will find out about job opportunities and requirements and will be able to take the exam. The meetings are free. Call 225-3478 to register.
