LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating the theft of a gas-powered ice auger and a five-gallon container of gas from the back of a truck. The items are valued at $370.
The Strikemaster auger was in the back of a Page Road resident’s pickup truck, police Chief Ernest N. Steward Jr. said. The resident last saw the auger on Thursday night and reported it missing on Saturday, he said.
The man doesn’t know if it was stolen when he went to work on Friday in Auburn or if it was stolen from his truck in the Livermore Falls area, Steward said.
