Reid H. Grover
1933 – 2010
NORTH WATERFORD — Reid H. Grover, 76, of North Waterford died Monday, Jan. 25, at his residence.
He was born in Waterford, June 13, 1933, the son of Mahlon and Clara (Pike) Grover. He was educated in North Waterford schools and attended Bridgton Academy.
On Oct. 20, 1956, he married the former Sylvia Johnson. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea.
After coming home from the military, he worked at the North Waterford Spool Mill, Wilner Wood Products, Saunders Bros. in Bridgton, and retired from Forrest Industries in Fryeburg.
He served the town of Waterford in the fire department since 1947. He was the fire chief of that department for many years and was its oldest member.
He is survived by two sons, Bradley Grover and his wife, Andrea and Michael Grover and his wife, Karen, both of Waterford; a sister, Donna and husband, Peter Dunn, of Norway; granddaughter, Ann-Marie; four great-grandchildren, Ian, Brenden, Dylan and Destiny; sister-in-law, Marguerite Verrill; and brother-in-law, Erwin and wife, Marcelle.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mahlon and Clara Grover; half brothers, Stan Brown and Liston Brown; half sister, Marguerite; brother, Richard Grover; sister, Althea Rich; and several nieces and nephews.
