Sunday worship
SOUTH PARIS — All are welcome to Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, on Sunday, Jan. 31, the fourth Sunday after Epiphany. Sunday school will start at 9 a.m. for the children and “Making the Old Story, Our Story” for adults at 9 a.m. The worship service will start at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.
Church activities
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will welcome Bill Glass as guest speaker on Sunday, Jan. 30. The service will start at 9 a.m. and will include a children’s message, after which Sunday School will begin in the vestry. Coffee hour and a sermon discussion will follow the service.
The annual winter picnic will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6. There will be games and prizes for children. Donations benefit the work of church. For more information, call Peggy at 388-2074.
On Saturday, Feb. 13, the church will show “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” at 6:30 p.m. The movie will be for the whole family. Admission is free and refreshments will be sold. Fore more information, call Bill at 388-2263.
Socrates Cafe
WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at the Waterford Library. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in an atmosphere where divergent views will be welcome.
The theme for the meeting will be “Our System: What Works, What
Doesn’t, What’s Our Next Step?” The facilitator will be Jim Kearney.

Public supper
OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church, Poplar Street, will
host a public supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. The
menu will consist of chicken and gravy over biscuits, squash, peas,
carrots, cranberry sauce, beverage and homemade pie. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
