Bridge results
LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 25 were as follows: first, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry; second, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; fourth, Helen Little and Rosemarie Goodwin.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area. Bridge players are needed to continue the bridge games for the next two months.
Open gym
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Department of Recreation’s open gym nights have kicked off and will continue through Thursday, March 18. Residents are welcome to participate on the following days: kindergarten through sixth grade, from 6:45 to 8 p.m Wednesdays; seventh through 12th grade, from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 18 years old and up, from 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. on both nights.
Parents must accompany their children, and children 4 years old and under are not permitted on court areas while open gym is in session. Inquiries may be directed to the Department of Recreation by calling 513-3005 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Open house

Listening techniques
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at
Central Maine Medical Center will offer the second of a three-part
Growing through Cancer series titled “The Art of Listening.” The
workshop is free for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers and will
take place at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at 12 High Street, on the CMMC
campus, in conference room A.
When
a loved one has cancer, listening in a supportive way becomes
especially important. Presenter Marcy Covey will teach listening
techniques that will enhance communication.
