Hotel Holly’s liquor license is being scrutinized by Lewiston officials after questions were raised over whether it meets state requirements for a hotel liquor license.

City Clerk Gerald P. Berube said he will decide early this week whether the city will renew the Holly’s liquor license. The issue first arose when members of the City Council raised questions over whether the Holly actually operates as a hotel.

The problem, according to Berube, is in the application filed by the owner of the Holly. In his current renewal application, he listed $20 in income from room rentals in 1984, $1,500 in food sales and $148,900 in liquor sales.
