LEWISTON — Two men were taken to a hospital Monday night after a late-night fight that led to at least one of them being hit in the head with a beer bottle.

Joseph Strout, 26, of 77 Rideout Ave. No. 14-2, and Eric Strout, 23, of 177 Lisbon St., were taken to Central Maine Medical Center, according to Lt. Mark Watson of the Lewiston Police Department. Watson said it was unclear from the report whether both men were hit in the head or only one.

The beer-bottle bashing occurred during a fight between the Strouts and two other men at Eric Strout’s home. Joseph and Eric Strout were fighting with two other Strouts — Anthony, 28, of Hillview Apartments No. 14-2 on Rideout Avenue, and Scott, 24, of 143 Oak St. — when one or both were hit in the head.

Lt. Watson said the four men are related, but police did not know how.

Watson said it was unclear whether the brawl happened inside or outside the residence. No arrest was made because all four declined to press charges.
