FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Farmington Public Library. The program will be on DNA and genealogy. The public is welcome to attend.
Music jamboree
EAST WILTON — A Country Music Jamboree/Spotlight will
be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, at the Harnden Masonic Lodge, 70 Bryant Road. The shows will have regular back up musicians and a weekly feature act.
They will be open to the public and donations
will be accepted at the door to help with the charge for the facility. A
50/50 raffle will be held during each program. Each show will be
filmed by students from the University of Maine to be aired on access

Valentine’s dance
FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue jazz band will sponsor a Valentine’s dance from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 12, at Mt. Blue High School. Tickets will be $5 at the door. The band will
provide live music and refreshments will be available. All proceeds
will support the band’s April trip to New York City to perform at
the Musical Heritage Festivals.
The jazz band performs under the direction of Karen Beacham
who, in addition to her teaching, serves as principal clarinet with
Maine Chamber Ensemble, Maine State Ballet Orchestra and Portland
Ballet Orchestra. Beacham performs with the Portland Symphony
Orchestra and is a founding member of the Nordica Trio.
Free ski night
WEST FARMINGTON — The Healthy Community Coalition, affiliated with
Franklin Community
Health Network, will sponsor a ski free night at Titcomb Mountain from 5
to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
There will be no charge for a lift
ticket and ski or snowboard equipment can be rented for $5. Equipment
is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Another ski fee event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb.
