Senior meeting

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will gather at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the West Parish Congregational Church for a
meeting and luncheon. Price of the luncheon is $7. The speaker will be
Paul Lepage.

Breakfast fundraiser

SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School French classes will have a breakfast from 7
to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in the culinary arts room at the high school. French toast,
sausage, coffee and juice will be served for $5 each person.

Proceeds will go towards the French class trip to Canada. A
50/50 raffle will also be drawn that day. For more information, contact

Book club

PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host the “For the Joy of Reading Aloud” book club at 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The club is for those reading at a third grade level or above who find comfort and joy
when reading aloud.

On Monday, Feb. 8, the group will read “The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble with Money.” On Monday, Feb. 22, they will read “The Berenstain Bears and the Sitter.”

Library speaker 

BRYANT POND — Hugh “Cubby” Swan will be the guest speaker at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Whitman Memorial
Library. He will
tell the story of a famous traveling hobo who journeyed all over the
world mostly by jumping on trains. The wooden shingle with his mark on
it has been found in Bethel.

The program
is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be
served.
