AUBURN — Tyler Smithgall’s game-high 22 points propelled Central Maine Community College to a 99-63 victory over Eastern Maine Community College in a Yankee Small College Conference tilt on Wednesday.

Leading by 12 at the break, the Mustangs (13-6) received scoring contributions from 14 players and outscored the Golden Eagles 54-30 in the final frame. A relentless defense forced the Golden Eagles into 20 turnovers.
Brennen Morton buried four treys for 12 points, Nick Hinkley added 10, Cam Angell scored nine and Eric Goodwin and Matt Lyons each hit for eight.

Carl Francis paced the Golden Eagles with 15 points, Jess Qualls added 11 and Dan Francis registered 10.

AUBURN — Teira Durgin scored 17 of her game-high 25 points in the second half as Central Maine Community College turned a one-point halftime advantage into a 69-52 rout over Eastern Maine Community College 69-52 on Wednesday.

The Mustangs (11-5) fell behind early in the second half, employed a pressure defense led by Durgin and Kayla Ellis and frustrated the Golden Eagles into a host of turnovers.

Sara Martin and Alex Donald canned 11 points apiece for the Mustangs while Ellis, Carrie Hayden and Tiffany Lougee each tallied five points.

Kara Scoville and Nicole Kaulback led the Golden Eagles with 11 points each Julia Nicholas added 10.
