Laurette J. Bernier
1916 – 2009
Lewiston – Laurette J. Bernier, 93, a resident of Montello Manor, died Thursday, Feb. 4, at her residence after a short illness.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1916, in Lewiston, a daughter of David and Georgianna (Fortin) Fillion and was educated in Lisbon schools.
Laurette had enjoyed 17 winters in Florida where she enjoyed dancing and spending time at the beach.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Bernier, who died in 1984; three brothers, Lionel, Armand and Roger; three sisters, Lillian, Edith and Rejane; and a granddaughter, Angela.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis and her husband, George DiFrancesco, of Ocala, Fla., and Linda and her husband, Tony Doyon, of Lisbon Falls; two grandchildren, Dina and her husband, Chris Sigfried, and Stephanie and her husband, Whitney Gross; and two great-grandchildren, Kate and Abby.
The Bernier family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff at Montello Manor, the Hospice caregivers as well as special friends, Sarah Frye, Diana Beaudoin, Phyllis St. Laurent, Marie Stewart, Claire Samson and Betty Dexter.
