DAR meeting
FARMINGTON — Colonial Daughters Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Fairbanks Union Church, Route 4. The ladies of the church will host a lasagna luncheon at noon. The program will be on Pierpole and Hannah Susep, a well-known early Indian family in Franklin County. The public is invited to attend.
Snow dance
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The J.V. Wing Snowmobile Club of Carrabassett Valley will host a “Snow Dance” at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, behind the clubhouse, Route 27. There will be A DJ, bonfire and free hot dogs. The club hopes everyone will bring a gift offering to throw in the bonfire to “please the snow gods.”
Movie benefit
FARMINGTON — “The Young Victoria” will be shown at 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the
Narrow Gauge Cinema. Tickets are available in advance at Devaney, Doak and Garrett and Twice
Sold Tales or on the day of the show at the door. Tickets
are $5.
Proceeds from the annual Literacy Volunteers movie benefit will go to literacy programs in Franklin and Somerset
Counties. Literacy Volunteers trains people to help people improve
reading and math skills in a one-on-one student centered environment. For information on training or for reading help, call
