LEWISTON — Tri-County Mental Health Services recently welcome Richard Lumb, Ph.D. of Wilton to its board of directors.
Lumb has an extensive professional background, including more then 28 years of direct police service, including time as Chief of Police in Old Orchard Beach and service for the Maine State Police.
After earning his doctorate from Florida State University, Lumb continued his work in criminal justice and policing as a professor at several colleges and universities, focusing his talents on both teaching and improving criminal justice and policing programs.
He has also served two terms as board chairman of the York County Counseling Services and chairman of the Governor’s Mental Health Advisory Council in the State of Maine.
“We are very pleased to have Richard on our board, his vast experience in public service as a police officer, a leader, and teacher in the criminal justice field in conjunction with his experience in the State of Maine with mental health issues will be a true asset to the agency,” said board President Dan Moreno as the unanimous vote was taken at the January board meeting.
