LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education will offer a variety of courses designed to support those looking to improve their health, increase physical activity, reduce stress, eat healthier, live more sustainably or find inspiration to be more creative.

Fitness classes will include:

Vinyasa Yoga Flow: a movement meditation blending elements of tai chi, kindalini yoga, tri-yoga flow, vinyasa yoga and Shiva Rea’s yoga trance dance.

Golf for Beginners: Learn the basics and enjoy playing at different local golf courses.

Couch to 5K: Participants will prepare to run in a local 5K road race this summer.

March into March: Enjoy a safe, well-lit indoor walking loop from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. during the cold months.

Nordic Pole Walking: This technique will turn a daily walk into a total-body workout.

In addition to the fitness classes, two dance classes will be offered: Ballroom Basics and Latin Dance for Beginners and Intermediates.

Additional personal wellness classes will include:

Breathing into Wellness: Learn how breath can be used to increase the body’s overall wellness.

Health and Stress Workshop: Learn about the symptoms of stress and how to relieve stress to stay healthy.

Introduction to Homeopathy: Discover the 200-year-old system of holistic medicine and how to apply it to common maladies.

For those looking to live a greener, more sustainable lifestyle, Lewiston Adult Education will offer courses including:

Designing Your Dream Garden: Professional grower Nancy Chandler will instruct how to grow a healthy and fruitful garden.

Edible Landscaping: Participants will learn how to incorporate food-producing plants as an alternative to conventional landscaping.

Green and Sustainable Living: A class for anyone interested in reducing their carbon footprint and finding cleaner heating solutions for their home.

For new parents interested in an organic alternative to processed baby food, a new Make Your Own Baby Food class will be offered.

For creative members of the community seeking new inspiration, a day-trip and tour of the Craft Boston fair at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston will be available through Lewiston Adult Education. Transportation from Lewiston to Boston and back is included.
