AUBURN — Assistant Principal Steve Galway has announced that Hanna Mogensen, a senior at Edward Little High School, has been selected to receive the 2010 Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Mogensen has excelled in all areas of the school program, distinguishes herself academically and as a school and community citizen. She is a quiet leader, excellent role model with her peers and fellow classmen.

She has been a member of the soccer team, the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and the cross country ski teams, as well as a representative to Girl’s State, Executive Board co-president, National Honor Society vice president, Youth Court member and a student representative to the School Committee.

Mogensen and Galway, along with other award winners and their principals, will attend an honors luncheon at 1 p.m.
Saturday, April 3, at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor. Students will be presented with individual plaques and seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler, former Maine principals and executive directors of the association.
