RANGELEY — Voters elected Harold Schaetzle by a 39-0 vote over Shepard Golub on Thursday in a runoff election to serve on the new Regional School Unit 78 board.

The runoff was required after each received one write-in vote in January. No one had taken out papers to fill a fifth Rangeley slot on the board that serves students from Rangeley, Dallas and Sandy River plantations in Franklin County and Magalloway Plantation in Oxford County. The board will have oversight of the Rangeley Lakes Regional School on July 1.

Schaetzle is a current Rangeley school board member.
