A representative of the Maine Truck Owners Association, Robert Filliettaz, will address the Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club Wednesday noon at the YMCA. He will speak on the “Maine Greets Alaska” truck which took Maine products to the 49th state.

WINTHROP — The Department of Environmental Protection has approved CAVU Investments Corporation’s application to move rocks and place sand along the shoreline of Annabessacook Lake.

The firm proposed to remove three rocks and place approximately 150 cubic yards of sand to improve a public beach associated with a campground on Annabessacook Lake.

In addition to the standard conditions, the approval includes stipulations concerning the process for rock removal, sand placement and the operation of power equipment.
