Grace E. Holt

1924 – 2010

AUBURN — Grace E. Holt, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Feb. 21, at Clover Manor. She had resided at Clover Manor the last six years and was formerly of Leeds.

She was born in Industry, Feb. 11, 1924, to Joseph and Roxie (Davis) Rackliff. She graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1942. She married James N. Holt, Nov. 27, 1945; he passed away Nov. 30, 1986. She was a member of the Leeds Community Church, Leeds Community Church Women’s Association, and treasurer for the Leeds Volunteer Fire Department Beano Organization.

She was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed playing beano and pokeno regularly during her time at Clover.

She is survived by two daughters, Carman Holt and Elaine Oakes and her husband, Terry; three sons, Erland Holt and wife, Noreen, Glenn Holt and Dale Holt and wife, Donna, all of Leeds; five grandchildren, Sandra Cropley, James E. Newton and wife, Joslyn, Katie Spugnardi and husband, David Jr., Heather Holt and William Holt; she was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Timothy Holt, Corey Newton, Tyler Vito, Paige, Dylan, Shane and Blake Vito-Newton and Caleb Spugnardi; two sisters, Hattie Small and Esther Hoffman; three brothers, Lawrence, Herschel and Alston Rackliff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Carl and David Rackliff; three sisters-in-law, Betty, Marilyn and Judy Rackliff.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor, the Dialysis Center in Auburn and Dr. DeSoi for their magnificent care of our mother during these last six years.
