LIVERMORE FALLS — State fire investigators say one adult and four juveniles are responsible for intentionally setting a fire that destroyed a vacant mobile home on Park Street early Saturday.

Fire investigators also believe those five suspects plus three more people, two adults and another juvenile, are responsible for starting a fire that destroyed a vacant house early Sunday on Scribner Hill Road in Manchester, Sgt. Ken Grimes of the Office of the State Fire Marshal, said Monday.

The suspects have not been charged in either case, Grimes said, but reports will be going to the Androscoggin and Kennebec counties district attorneys for any charges that will come out of it.

The Livermore Falls fire call for the home on Park Street, also known as Route 133, came in at 12:38 a.m. Saturday.

When firefighters arrived, Grimes said, the trailer was fully engulfed. Indications are that it had been burning for some time, he said.

“There was no chance of firefighters saving it,” he said.

There was no power hookup or heat sources at the trailer, he said.

The vacant trailer has been sitting just off the side of the road for years on the property of Gerard Castonguay.

Grimes and state fire investigators, Edward Hastings IV and Kenneth MacMasters interviewed suspects from the Livermore Falls and Winthrop areas in the case on Sunday, he said. The four juveniles are in their late teens and the adult is a young adult, he said.

The second fire was reported at 2 a.m. Sunday in Manchester, Grimes said. The vacant house belongs to Lendall Dudley of Manchester, he said. There was also no power or heat source for that building.
