FARMINGTON — Farms, farm stands and area businesses that sell locally grown or produced products are invited to list their businesses in the 2010 edition of “Mabel’s Book: A Guide to Farms & Farm stands in Western Maine.”

Now in its fourth year of publication, the book features information on more than 100 farms in Oxford, Franklin, Somerset and Piscataquis Counties, in addition to articles on when produce is in season and how to buy local meat, cheese and dairy.

“Mabel’s Book” is available free to the public through town offices, libraries, local businesses and the Western Mountains Alliance, or by visiting the Western Mountains Alliance Web site.

The deadline for farms, farm stands and businesses interested in listing in the publication is Monday, March 1. Early bird rate applies for listings received by Monday, Feb. 15.
